1. The Service

Family Origin lets you create artistic family-tree portraits. You provide information about your family members (such as names, birth dates, relationships and, optionally, photos), and the Service uses artificial-intelligence image-generation technology to produce several portrait designs. You can preview watermarked designs for free and purchase high-resolution, print-ready files, optional add-ons (such as a family storybook, greeting card, narrated audio story or additional portraits), and send purchased portraits to others by email.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the photos and information you upload (“Your Content”). By uploading Your Content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store and process it solely to provide the Service — including transmitting photos to our AI-processing providers to generate your portraits. We do not sell Your Content and we do not use it to train AI models.

You represent and warrant that:

• you own Your Content or have the necessary permissions to use it;
• where Your Content includes photos of other identifiable people, you have their permission (or, for children, the permission of a parent or guardian) to upload the photos and to have artistic portraits generated from them;
• Your Content does not infringe any third-party rights and is not unlawful, harmful or offensive.

4. AI-generated output

Portraits are generated by AI and are artistic interpretations, not photographic reproductions. We do not guarantee that generated faces or details will accurately resemble the people in your photos, and results may vary between generations. Preview designs are provided so you can review the output before purchasing.

Upon full payment, we assign to you all rights we hold in the purchased high-resolution output for personal, non-commercial use, including printing, framing and gifting. Commercial use requires our prior written consent.

5. Purchases and payment

• All purchases are one-time payments — no subscription, no recurring charges.
• Prices are shown before checkout, including the selected package and add-ons.
• Payment is processed by third-party payment providers (e.g. PayPal or card processors). We do not store your full payment details.
• Digital products are delivered instantly after payment as downloads and/or by email.

6. Gifting

If you use the gifting feature, you confirm you have a lawful basis to provide the recipients’ email addresses and that recipients would reasonably expect to receive your gift. Gift emails are sent on your behalf and identify you as the sender.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• upload photos of people without permission, or any unlawful, defamatory, or explicit material;
• use the Service to harass, deceive or impersonate anyone;
• reverse-engineer, scrape, overload or interfere with the Service;
• resell or commercially exploit the Service or its output without our written consent.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate access for breaches of these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, mascot, logos and example artwork — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that generated output will meet your expectations (see also our Refund Policy).

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or loss of data, profits or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or consumers’ statutory rights).

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of Your Content or your breach of these Terms, including claims by people depicted in photos you upload.

We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law
